VIÑA EXTREMEÑA, Extremadura, Spain
www.vinexsa.com

Viña Extrameña is an award-winning producer from the region of Extremadura in southwestern Spain. The hearty wines from this beautifully rugged inland area are made both from the traditional Spanish grapes
Tempranillo and Garnacha (Grenache, in French) as well as popular Bordeaux / international varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

This historic district of Spain is an excellent wine-growing area south of Ribero del Duero and east of Portugal, and the wines share a fullness of character with the wines of those regions. The largest producer in Extremadura, Viña Extrameña has over 1000 hectares of vineyards and three cellars near the city of Almendralejo.

Viña Extrameña’s vineyards are meticulously managed, receiving careful pruning, mid-season crop thinning, and no water during
the growing season. No herbicides or chemical fertilizers are employed.
The viticultural philosophy is to permit the climate, vineyard soil and geology to determine overall annual development of the vines, while the productivity of each individual plant is carefully limited. This focuses
the vigor of each vine in fewer grape bunches, yielding more concentrated, intense fruit.

Winemaking at Viña Extremeña is practiced with equal care and attention. Temperature-controlled, gravity-feed tanks are used
for fermentation, and the wine is aged in select Midwestern American oak casks. The impressive line wears elegant traditional labels.

Viña Extremeña wines:

Monasterio de Tentudia (Tempranillo)
Monasterio de Tentudia Tradicion (Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon);
Corte Real (Cabernet Sauvignon and Tempranillo)
